“Organized chaos” is probably the best way to describe volunteering at Micah Ministry; they work to feed so, so many people and everyone’s running around doing exactly what they need to do to make the night go.
Volunteering at Micah Ministry is fun not only because it helps a great many people clothe themselves and eat but also because it gives us a chance to rub elbows with a lot of different groups – from Serve KC to local country clubs to local churches. The atmosphere is warm, there are smiles a-plenty, and there’s a steady hum of activity as meals are brought out and clothes, toiletries, and other basic necessities are distributed to those in need of them.
We’re really grateful for the opportunity extended to us by The Micah Ministry, and we look forward to the next time we get to volunteer with them!
Thank you KCAC for providing us with a great opportunity to participate in an activity that clearly does some good for people who are really in need. We brought Sweet Thing’s 16 year old daughter and her boyfriend who joined us voluntarily. I think it was a great learning opportunity for them.
We didn’t participate in the socializing afterword because we had another activity scheduled at 7:00 PM. But, I’m sure that was fun too.
Looking forward to the next opportunity to join KCAC for good works and/or great fun.
