One of the many highlights for the atheist community in Kansas City and beyond each year is the Labor Day picnic hosted by Darrel Ray. It’s a great time to bring your family and meet with fellow non-believers, kick back, relax, and let the kids play with each other and explore Darrel’s beautiful property.
While people took turns paddling around Darrel’s pond in his paddle boat, we enjoyed great food, drinks, and friends as the cool temperatures set in with the onset of fall. A gentle breeze helped combat the trailing vestiges of the summer heat and create a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere.
We all left late into the night or the next morning, a little tired but happy to have spent the time we did with friends neat and from afar. We all eagerly look forward to doing it all over again the same time next year.
